Next Sunday, January 23, the Mozambican musician, Chico António, will open acoustic music sessions at the Muliba Restaurant, a space that is concerned with the promotion of Mozambican music from Bairro Fomento, in Matola. The troubadour and his guitar will guarantee at least three hours of music that crosses traditional and modern sounds, as proposed in “Antlissa Maria”, “Baila Maria” and “Mercandonga”.
According to the press release sent to Moz Entretenimento, Chico António will welcome the first visitors of a relaxing afternoon at the Muliba for his inexhaustible musical imagination, which retains hits from the 80s to this part, being one of the few in constant ( re)creation and, therefore, with a performance that does not go out of tune.
According to Ginho Sibia, the producer of these events, quoted by our source, the choice of Chico António to open the Sunday sessions is more than legitimate, as he is one of the most relevant voices in Mozambican music and with an unquestionable trajectory in the country as well as abroad
The refined repertoire of Sundays will follow guitar stars such as António Marcos, Roberto Chitsondzo, Aniano Tamele and José Mucavele, just to name a few.
The statement also mentions that the acoustic music that aims to reinvigorate the cultural itinerary of Matola, at this time of the COVID-19 pandemic, is added to the live events on Thursdays. Starting in December of last year, Muliba has been hosting great projects that are characterized by a markedly strong live performance, such as Zoco Dimande, Stélio Mondlane Project, Valter Mabas, Leman Pinto, Rhodália Silvestre and, more recently, the band Os (In)disciplined.
On Sundays, in addition to the acoustic music of the troubadours, from 11 am to 3 pm, customers are invited to an “intimate lunch”, with the possibility of choosing their preferred music from the guest performer's repertoire.
